Along the way you will pass through prosperous lowland villages like Adlestrop, where the poet Edward Thomas was inspired to write his well known poem at the brink of WW1. It goes past famous and historic towns such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Cirencester with glimpses of grand manor houses and stately homes such as Chastleton House and Stowell Park and even passes close by Highgrove, Prince Charles' family home. Your luggage will be transported ahead of you. The trail ends in the beautiful city of Bath.

The Cross Cotswold Pathway forms part of the MacMillan Way, a coast to coast 290 mile (467 km) trail running from Boston, Lincolnshire on east coast to Abbotsbury, Devon or Barnstable, Cornwall in the south-west. The total walking distance for this self-guided walking holiday is 86 miles (138 km). Maximum daily distance is 16 miles, minimum is 9 miles.

The grade of this Cotswold walking holiday is moderate, and it is more relaxed and less strenuous than the Cotswold Way.
