This is a mixed walking / biking / horseriding holiday for travelers who want to explore the Greek islands in an active way. The focus is on walking and hiking, but there are also other activities.

You'll be visiting the islands Paros, Naxos and Santorini. The Cycladic complex of islands is the most representative of the archetypical Greek style. Fishing villages with whitewashed flat roofed houses and narrow streets, hundreds of chapels, rocky landscape contrasting with the deep blue sea and bays with powdery white sandy beaches.

This tour takes you to the best spots at the coast as well as to the interior of the islands where you will discover the islander's culture and habits. By horse, bike, on foot, or sea kayak you will discover places few visitors do and you will taste the best of Greek food through cooking classes and delicious picnics.

Accommodation in the Cyclades

You'll be trekking around and staying in three different 3-star hotels during this holiday. All of them are chosen for their suitable location, comfort and style.

hotel terrace in shaded garden with relaxing chairs large outdoor hotel swimming pool under a blue sky spacious hotel bedroom with double bed

All rooms are spacious and as a minimum offer internet WIFI access, air conditioning, cable/satellite TV, telephone, safety-box, fridge/mini-bar. The hotels also have amenities such as swimming pools, restaurants, fitness facilities, entertainment, etc.

Walking in the Cyclades

The hikes during this walking holiday are relatively easy and the activities are at beginners level. They last 3 to 4 hours per day so that you have plenty of time to also explore on your own or do other things. The walking is on a mixture of dirt tracks and well-constructed stone mule paths.

If you're an active person who enjoys energetic days outdoors, you'll like this holiday a lot.

The Cycladic Islands enjoy a Mediterranean climate, with an average temperature for the year of 18-19 C. Thanks to the beneficial effects of seasonal winds, the winters are mild and the summers – by Greek standards - cool.

You might not think so at first sight, but the Cycladic islands have a very rich flora and a large number of rare endemic plants. You'll find them on the edge of rocks, on the most steep places surviving for centuries, unique, separated, isolated. Campanula laciniata, Muscari cycladicum, Campanula santorii, Centaurea oliveriana, the rare Fibigia lunaroides are only a few of endemic plants that can be found on the Cycladic Islands.

Then we will follow the path to Ano Potamia picturesque village. After a short refreshing stop at the village's spring, we will hike to Apano Kastro (Upper Castle). Day 7: Naxos to Santorini - After breakfast, relax and enjoy swimming or strolling in the picturesque port of Naxos and around mid-day we take the boat to the fairest island of the Cyclades, Santorini. Continue to the island of Thirassia. There you can explore the island or swim at the beach next to the port. Lunch and return cruise along the caldera cliffs, so you will have the chance to take wonderful photos of the amazing cliffs. Return to Hotel and farewell dinner with Caldera view.
