Walking holidays in Austria

Who doesn't dream of walking through alpine meadows full of wildflowers, following trails up to some of Europe's highest peaks, and enjoying breathtaking panoramas of the Alps? Austria has a long history as a walking holiday destination, some even say the tradition originated here, with climbing the Alpine peaks such as the Grossglockner, starting already in 1800.
